Call for Reviewers – National Program Open Science I (2021-2024)
The National Open Science Program, with an allocated budget of 11 million CHF for the period 2021-2024, will match another 11 million CHF invested by the Swiss higher education institutions themselves on their way to achieve the goals of the Open Access Implementation Plan. The phase A of this program focusing on Open Access (OA) will be completed by a phase B focusing on Open Research Data (ORD) starting in 2022.
The Open Science (OS) Delegation of swissuniversities is in charge of managing this program and is recruiting between 15 and 20 experts in Open Science to expand the existing Open Science Reviewers’ Pool whose mission is to assess the quality, impact and the relevance of proposals using an anonymized open peer review process.
More information on the requirements for expertise, suitability and skills, as well as the recruitment process deadlines, are summarised in the following documentation.
Dr. Beat Immenhauser will renew his role as President of the Reviewers Pool for the year 2022. For more information regarding the Reviewers Pool from swissuniversities, feel free to check our website.
Call for Tenders – Regulatory Framework
The Open Science Program will soon launch the call for tenders Regulatory Framework (action line 3.2.2 of the OA Implementation Plan) which foresees a comprehensive legal analysis focusing mainly on an alternative approach for a secondary publication right. This call for tenders will be open to potential bidders who have been selected by the delegation Open Science at its last January meeting and who will be invited by letters to submit an offer. This invitation procedure complies with public procurement law.
All information about the call will be published under this link.
Swiss Scientific institutions adopt the Open Research Data Strategy Action Plan
The Open Research Data (ORD) Action Plan specifies the measures of the ORD Strategy published in July 2021. It represents a further step for swissuniversities, the ETH Board, the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) as well as the Academies of Arts and Sciences towards facilitating access to research data and thus Open Science.
