Projektzusammenfassung: The context for our project is one of increasing use of generative AI in education. Recent surveys at EPFL and ETHZ show that 80% of the students use such technologies to learn, to code and to write. But what about academic staff (instructors and curriculum designers)? The speed of innovation in this domain and the legal and ethical challenges posed by these technologies leave a competence gap open that we propose to address in this project. The project addresses digital skills both as «STEM content» for students (computational thinking) as well as digital skills as a combination of «Technology + Media + Pedagogy + Didactics + Legal + Ethics» competences that are needed by instructors to use generative AI in education.
