swissuniversities has formulated a recommendation on the use of foreign doctoral degrees / titles in Switzerland. For degrees from Germany, Italy and Austria, the relevant agreements on equivalencies in higher education apply. 

The use of titles is regulated in the cantonal university laws and ETH Act respectively. There is no national legislation. The State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI has published a reference paper for the use of titles.
