Election of the President of the Reviewers Pool
We congratulate Dr. Beat Immenhauser on his election as President of the recently established Reviewers Pool. Learn more about his motivation for running for president, as well as his view of the challenges in Open Science in this video, directed by Dr. Aude Bax de Keating, Portfolio Manager at swissuniversities.
Extraordinary and Transitional ORD Funding
An extraordinary call for proposals was issued in the summer of 2020 with the goal of providing additional funding for ongoing projects. The funding was needed to ensure the transition to Phase B PgB Open Science. The six projects that received extraordinary funding for 2021 under the Scientific Information 2017-2020 program have now been launched. Their brief descriptions can be found here.
PROJECTS
OA-EASI: Project News
The OA-EASI project has released a project report on publication analysis at Swiss universities of teacher education and universities of applied sciences (see full text). As a further milestone, the program also announces the establishment of a new Zenodo Community. In addition to the above-mentioned contribution and the associated research data, it contains further resources such as the presentation of the project at last year's Open Access Days.
OTHER CONTRIBUTIONS
Practice Handbook on Research Data Management published Open Access
The De Gruyter publishing house has released a new Practice Handbook on Research Data Management (ed. Markus Putnings, Heike Neuroth and Janna Neumann). In total, more than 50 experts contributed to it, with the aim of providing researchers in the field with information and options for dealing with RDM field. The practice handbook covers topics such as data ecosystem, data market, data culture, data management data transfer and re-use. In addition, the collected literature can be found on Zotero. With 760 entries, this collection of knowledge is available to further deepen RDM expertise.
